“Dreamer”

The picture of a house on a cloud. I was inspired by the saying: "Your dreams are what define your individuality. They have the power to give you wings and make you fly high" by P.V. Sindhu. Wouldn't you like to climb up the ladder and just enjoy the view of the moon?

The original sketch

This is the original quick sketch of the idea. I love to visualize my ideas before I search for the right images on Unsplash, which I then use for my work. The sketch helps me to get the perspective and the light situation right. My sketch is far from perfect, but it is a useful start when creating new compositions.

Matching pictures

The pictures I used are shown below. I have linked to the pages. At the house I had to remove the person and "repair" the house because the bush was in front of it. You can see it a little bit if you look closely, but I am still satisfied with the result. I also had to “prune” the tree a little on the left side to improve the contrast.

Colors and atmosphere

After finding all the pictures and putting them together correctly I took care of the colours and the whole atmosphere. In this picture I painted the ladder, because I did not find any matching pictures of ladders.
I love this contrast between orange and turquoise. I definitely wanted to use it in this artwork.
