“Bird House Lady”
„To be a surrealist means barring from your mind all remembrance of what you have seen, and being always on the lookout for what has never been.“ - Rene Magritte
The original sketch
First of all, in the original sketch I thought about portraying a woman, with raised arms and a birdhouse for a head. I also thought about letting birds flutter around the woman, but I left them out so that the focus would be on the woman. The surreal scene should take place at night or in the evening. That was already clear to me at that time. I continued with the search for the right pictures.
Matching pictures
For this artwork I needed five pictures, they are all shown below and linked. The most important picture was of course that of the woman and the birdhouse. I looked at several pictures of birdhouses, but this one fitted best. The light and the perspective were right. I have made the background a bit more blurred in the foreground and background to emphasize the center (the woman).
Colors and atmosphere
Then, after I found the most important pictures, I sent a moon to the sky and darkened the picture a bit, turned day into night. For the atmosphere I added some light particles to the picture, in different sizes and opacity. The birds flying in front of the moon should attract little attention, so I made them very blurred and adjusted a bit on the opacity. Then I was satisfied. I hope you like the artwork.

The beautiful thoughts in our head deal with the subconscious, i.e. with the hidden wishes and dreams - freedom
Summary of the interpretation
We can be free in our thoughts like a bird. Our very personal thoughts function like a home as a familiar retreat for ourselves and through this freedom of thought, a freedom of the soul is created, because, for example, we subconsciously deal with hidden wishes and dreams in our head -> nothing is impossible, through our thoughts we are free.
